MMCA Seoul

MMCA stands for Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art or it is the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art(국립현대미술관), Korea. There are 3 branches in Korea. Deoksugung(덕수궁관), Seoul(서울관), and Gwacheon(과천관). The Seoul branch is located in Sogyeok-dong, Jongno-gu at the former site of the Defense Security Command. It was built in 2013. The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art(국립현대미술관), Seoul(MMCA Seoul) is different from other branches because it offers a spacious courtyard to people as for gathering together to socialize under the Korea's traditional architectural concept called 'madding'. The MMCA Seoul's building is built with glass as tall and wide and as the design of nature surrounded the city. There are, reference center, art gallery, gallery theater, and multipurpose hall. The new creative artist can show their works at the MMCA Seoul. Beside the old art museum, you can find the new artistic contemporary art here at the MMCA Seoul. :)

It also included many program for studying purposes such as Professional Development Program, Exhibition Related Program, Public Program, School Program, Outreach Program, Special Access Program, Cultural Diversity Program, Children's Museum.
The art exhibition here is not just for looking but we can also join-in, play, and be apart of each exhibition.

The entrance fees is 4,000 won per ticket. But you can enter for free if you show them a student card!

The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art(국립현대미술관), Seoul(MMCA Se
oul) is built with a modern design but you can also meet nature here. The museum is shady, cool, and pleasant with many tall green trees and grass.

The courtyard used to present many exhibition too. Sadly, there was none when I went :((( The courtyard was once full of Panda figures during the Panda Exhibition!

The facilities inside the museum is really modern. Even the stair is made artistically(*O*)!

This is one of the art exhibition during the time when I went there. It is the use of color light bulbs and electrical fans. It is moving as an electrical fans and the colors will shine out in a circular way around the room as the electrical fans move.

This one is usually a room full of art paints and one side of the room is a projector displaying the moving art picture. People usually take picture with it as a shadow!~ ;)

And for this one, it is once again a projector. You can type what you want to on the notebook provided and it will show up on the wall of the room! :))))
