Haneul Park

Haneul Park(하늘공원) or the Sky Park is a grassland park located next to the World Cup Stadium Park. The land at Haneul Park were once abandoned as the soil were really poor and they couldn't plant anything unlike the World Cup Stadium Park where there are many beautiful gardens and forests. So as the soil were not so good so theHangul Park wasteland decided to create a project demonstrates how to recover the nature that was once a barren land to be a flourish park.

At Haneul Park(하늘공원), you will see the widest grassland with many different species of butterfly on the hill. It is said that around 30,000 butterflies were released on Nanjido Island(난지도) which is in the middle of the Hangul Park(하늘공원). The walk way up the to park is very high. You will need to take many steps up the stair to the hill and then walk a little bit more to the grassland! But If you prefer not to walk then there is a shuttle car service too! however, I did walk up the hill to grassland
and it was bearable though ;) but It was during Fall so the weather was kinda chilly and nice~!

On the stair up to the hill, you can view the scenic scene of Seoul City and the beautiful Han River. Not only that but also, Bukhansan Mountain(북한산국립공원), Namsan Mountain(남산), the highest building of Seoul 63 Building(63스퀘어), and Haengjusanseon Fortress(행주산성) too.

I went there because my friend's sister came to Korea and they wanted to travel to the new natural places. So I chose Haneul Park(하늘공원) and took them to there since it was just so popular at that time to the Korean people. The atmosphere at Haneul Park(하늘공원) were so relax and peaceful. Many people came there for a photoshoot. I have seen a group of students coming for the field-trip too. Some people went for a picnic as well. The grassland were really wide and big. If you have a chance to go to Korea, try going to this park since It isn't as crowded as other parks. It is now only popular among the Korean people. There aren't many tourists yet. I recommend that you to go!^^

It opens both day and night. The close time is different for each month. Do check the time on this link http://worldcuppark.seoul.go.kr/parkinfo/parkinfo3_1.html. Unfortunately, It was only in Korean. However, after clicking the link, you just click this button  then look for the 공원 통제시간 which is the closing time.

It is located in the center of Seoul and the transportation isn't hard :)

Direction
