Korean Chinese Cuisine
Hello there! Today I will talk about my all time favorite cuisine ever! It is Korean Chinese cuisine(중화요리) I first tried it out in Korea since there were a Chinese restuarant nearby where I lived and It opened 24 hours! My friend Yim and I always love eating it at late night when all the restaurants are already closed hahahahah
So what is Korean Chinese cuisine(중화요리)?
Korean Chinese cuisine(중화요리) is a traditional Chinese but using the Korean local ingredients such as kimchi(김치). Most Korean-Chinese dishes are believed to derive from the Northern China such as Beijing and Shandong cuisine. The cuisine mostly developed at Incheon City(인천) because there contained the most Chinese population.
There are two main primary Chinese menu in most of the Korean-Chinese restaurants in Korea.
First, Jajangmyeon(자장면), a steamed noodles topped with black bean paste.
Second, Jjamppong(짬뽕), a spicy wheat flour noodle soup flavored with kimchi(김치), onions, and chili oil. Usually, there are toppings such as seafood, chicken, or meat.
I love Seafood Jjamppong(해물짬뽕) the most while Yim really like Jajangmyeon(자장면)! Seafood Jjamppong(해물짬뽕) tastes just like Tomyum-Koong(ต้มยำกุ้ง) in Thailand so I always go eat it whenever I feel like missing Thai food >_<
There are also many side dishes available such as Tangsuyuk(탕수육), the Korean sweet and sour pork, chicken, or beef. And also Kkanpunggi(깐풍기), a fried chicken in sweet and spicy sauce.
I will show you Yim and I most favorite Korean-Chinese restaurant nearby our apartment in Korea.
The left dish is Jajangmyeon(자장면) and the right is Seafood Jjamppong(해물짬뽕)
This is the special menu of this restaurant, a spicy Tangsuyuk(탕수육)
This is normal Tangsuyuk(탕수육)
We usually ordered Jajangmyeon(자장면), Seafood Jjamppong(해물짬뽕), and Tangsuyuk(탕수육) when we go there :P
The Korean-Chinese cuisine is very popular among the Korean people. It is also easy to find the Korean-Chinese restaurants in Korea. It is a MUST try!! ;)))
